Swiss pianist Simon Bürki was born in 2000 in St. Gallen. He began his musical studies in Kyiv while continuing his schooling in Switzerland, before moving to Moscow to study with Professor Andrey Pisarev at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He later moved to New York, where he completed his Master’s degree at The Juilliard School in 2026. He continues to work closely with pianist Sergei Babayan.

Bürki has received prizes at more than 25 international piano competitions. Among his distinctions are consecutive First Prizes at the Franz Liszt Competition in Weimar and the A Step Towards Mastery competition in St. Petersburg. His concert appearances have taken him across Europe, Asia, and the United States, to venues and festivals including the Tonhalle Zürich, Lucerne Festival, and Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris.

In 2023, Bürki released Reminiscence, his debut album dedicated to the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff. His second album, featuring works by Robert Schumann and Frédéric Chopin, is scheduled for release in September 2026.

His repertoire spans the major works of the piano literature, alongside a continuing interest in less frequently performed works and contemporary music.
